We all want something.
But what most of us don't realize is that the thing we are really chasing after is freedom. Hello, I'm Rebekah "Freedom". My birth name is Rebekah McClaskey. But, as a joke several years ago, I adopted the name Rebekah Freedom because I was mocking all the assholes in Boulder, Colorado who kept changing their names from Mike to Deva Guru. Gag. But, the joke was on me because words have power.
I updated my social media profiles to read REBEKAH FREEDOM. This moniker acted like a strict teacher. If I was to truly represent freedom, then I was not going to be allowed to "fall asleep" or numb myself from the pain life can inflict.
I've not had a normal life. And I'm not going to go into details. What I do want you to know is that when you are on the outside looking in, you get to observe what "normal life" does to people. Most of us are not ready for normal life. We don't have the capacity to stick with the person we married. We fuck up raising our children in a moral way. We can't keep a job or get our "great idea" off the ground. We gain wealth only to lose our health. We have a rock'n body, but only "followers" on social media admire it. For the most part we are lost; even people rock'n Ugg shoes, a $7 latte, yoga pants, and spiritual beads.
If you see yourself in any of what was mentioned, don't worry, you are not alone. Millions of people are worshiping false idols. Millions of people think that their specific pathology makes them special and entitled to more attention. Millions of people think that having a relationship will make them more legit and/or safeguard them from the hardships life brings. And some of them are right. But, for the most part, most of them are trapped in dogma, negative thought forms, or are possessed by disease.
Frankly, it hurts to watch. And it has hurt to be dragged into the drama the world deems significant so that we can affirm our existence.
It takes three elements to break free and live a life of purpose so that you can feel whole and happy:
1. Willingness. I don't fuck around with people that tell me "I can't afford your services." That sentence lets me know they are not ready to be responsible for their lives and henceforth, we will waste each other's time.
2. Financial resources. If you can't earn a living that supports the lifestyle that you are content with, then you are trapped. It takes new mind to live a new life.
3. Inspired Action. "Faith without works is dead." You can believe all you want that good luck is heading your way. You can make a new vison board every year. But, if you don't put your money where your heart is and take action towards your dreams, son, you are dead in the water!
Frankly, I don't care if people work with me or not. I care who works with me. I care that the person who comes to my website, looks around, and sees the monetary investment understands it's not $10,000 of monies they will be shelling out. I spent $150,000 on my education and another twenty years of my life dedicated to the cause of setting people free. And I only say that because sometimes the only thing people can hear is the numbers.
Try this on.
What would it be worth to you to not have to take pills to address your depression? What would it be worth to you to be able to connect with your husband on an intimate level that has nothing to do with sex? What value do you place on being given the attention you feel you have earned and being validated as a good human being? Fuck, what would it be like for you to know exactly how to manage your life in a way that not only provided for you but also provided for the ones you loved?
Only you can answer these questions. And if your answer is that you want to understand how to experience mental well-being, deep connection, appreciation, and clarity then you are one of the few individuals who are ready to live a life of freedom.
